"The Lloretrail first official test confirmed post COVID19 for July 26"

Lloret de Mar is one of the destinations that has been best prepared with a Comprehensive Prevention Plan

Lloret de Mar, one of the main tourist destinations in the Spanish State, confirms the first official test by the Catalan Athletics Federation and the General Secretariat for Sport and Physical Activity, after the health emergency arising from COVID19.
The Lloret de Mar City Council, led by Lloret Turisme, and with the collaboration of the private sector, has drawn up the first comprehensive destination plan with safety and health protocols throughout the municipality. This plan, which follows the guidelines of the World Health Organization, is the result of work led by a multidisciplinary team that has covered different areas (public roads, security, beaches, hotels, apartments, tourist homes, camping sites, restaurants, commerce, sport, daytime leisure and night leisure). To date, more than 8,500 tourist workers have enrolled in the general and specific prevention training of COVID19, which represents 50% of all Lloret de Mar workers registered with Social Security. In the words of the councilor for sports Ana Garcia Castany “The municipality has made a great public-private effort to guarantee maximum prevention and COVID19. This Comprehensive Plan offers security and offers an important added value to the efforts made by sports organizers to return to normality ”.

The first Lloretrail organized by La Sansi, with the collaboration of the Lloret de Mar (Girona) City Council, had to have been held on March 22 and was postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic. Finally, it will be held on July 26, within the program of the Santa Cristina Festival and after receiving authorizations from the Lloret de Mar City Council, the Local Police, the Catalan Athletics Federation, and the General Secretariat for Sport and Physical Activity .

Last May, La Sansi was the first organization to send the institutions and the Federation an action and containment plan to organize races. The Lloretrail will comply with all the mandatory safety and hygiene requirements recommended by the authorities. The distances to be covered will be: 5 kilometers (150 m of elevation gain) and 12 kilometers (500 meters of elevation gain). The organization, prudent, has decided to abolish the 21km mode in anticipation of high temperatures.

Registrations were sold out 11 days before the event, but in the next few days, extra bibs will be on sale at www.lloretrail.com (of those who cannot attend) until completing a quota of 800 participants.

The Lloretrail, with the participation of athletes of international level, will be broadcast live. The start and finish will be located at different points in the Rieral de Lloret de Mar. The starts will be staggered, complying with the required safety clearance at the time of the event, and will count the time of each participant since they pass through the timing mats. (Championchip) starting (and later through the intermediate points and the goal).

Participants will enter a small interurban route and then continue to make the first ascents and descents along a route through different emblematic mountains of Lloret. A technical layout, with some ramps of about 40%.

The Sansi will also be for the sixth year managing the technical direction of the Cursa de la Mercè in Barcelona, ​​organized by the Barcelona City Council, which has already confirmed its date for next September 20.
