Sheila Avilés, best Spanish mountain runner, has confirmed her participation in the 12 km of the Lloretrail on July 26.
The Catalan athlete has proven to be one of the best mountain runners in the world, a great dominator in distances of 20 to 40 km. Bronze medal in the last World Championship, and among other victories, she is also champion of the Skyrunner World Series, and will come to Lloret de Mar as one of the main favorites for victory in the 12 km.
Sheila, who is characterized by being a very consistent and strong athlete, is very "happy to compete in my first race after so many months and wanting to enjoy the mountains of Lloret". Sheila Avilés comments.
The first Lloretrail organized by La Sansi, with the collaboration of the Lloret de Mar City Council (Girona), had to have been held on March 22 and was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, it will be held on July 26, after receiving authorizations from the Lloret de Mar City Council, the Local Police, the Catalan Athletics Federation, and the General Secretariat for Sport and Physical Activity.

With 800 registered, it will comply with all the mandatory safety and hygiene requirements recommended by the authorities at the time of the event, highlighting the staggered exits while complying with the required safety clearance.
The distances to be covered will be: The 12 kilometers (500 meters of difference in altitude) with departure at 7:30 am and the 5 kilometers (150 meters of difference in altitude) with departure at 9:00 am. The organization, prudent, decided to abolish the 21km mode in anticipation of high temperatures.

Although the event has a marked popular tone, in the next few days the confirmation of more international athletes is expected, which will brighten its first edition.
