Next Friday, December 26 at 10:30 a.m., the iconic Sant Silvestre del Masnou will take place, organised by La Sansi and the Masnou City Council, with the collaboration of Esportcat and the Barcelona Provincial Council.

More than 2,500 bibs sold out ten days before race day, setting a record for registrations in its 46 editions, with more female participants than ever before.

The 5 km Sant Silvestre del Masnou course is officially certified by the Catalan Athletics Federation and features only two turns, with both the start and finish line located on the Nacional II road, right in front of Masnou City Hall.

The 5 km race will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by the children’s race at 11:30 a.m.

In 2020, during the pandemic, only three end-of-year races were held: the Sant Silvestre Vallecana, the B100 Cursa dels Nassos and the Sant Silvestre del Masnou, with the latter two organised by La Sansi.

The winner of the last four editions has confirmed his participation: international athlete Dmitrijs Serjogins (Latvia – La Sansi), winner of several races, including the popular Jean Bouin.

In the women’s field, Laura Heredia, runner-up in the last two editions and Olympic athlete in modern pentathlon at the Paris Games; Argentina Oria, winner of the Jean Bouin Popular 2025 and 3rd at the Cursa de la Mercè 2025; and Latvian athlete Katija Valtere, winner in 2019 and 3rd in 2022, have all confirmed their participation.

Athletes from 22 countries will take part in the race.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to charitable organisations.
